Heart-healthy eating will be just one of the subjects in the spotlight at our free “Love Your Heart” health awareness event in Abergavenny on Friday 4 October.
The event, which is open to the public, is set to run from 9:45am-12.30pm at the St John Ambulance Cymru Training Centre in Fairfield Car Park, next to Bailey Park, and will be followed by our Annual General Meeting.
We’ve got a packed programme planned for the event, including talks by three experts, with time for questions after each one and a break part-way through for free refreshments.
- NHS Dietician Lucy Usher (pictured above) will provide pointers on healthy eating for your heart.
- Clinical Nurse Specialist Amanda Prosser will focus on managing inherited high cholesterol (sometimes called familial hypercholesterolaemia, or FH).
- And Abergavenny local Lenny Jordan will share his experience of adapting to sight loss.
The talks will be followed by a short relaxation session, then a quick break for more refreshments ahead of the AGM, which starts at 1pm.
