We’re delighted to announce the winners of our “My Happy Place in Nature” photo contest.

We received scores of fabulous entries, so whittling them down to our final 12 winners was no easy task.

But our judges have now made their selection, with each of the chosen images set to feature in our 2026 calendar. Here are our calendar stars as they’ll appear, month by month:

  • January – “Golden fleece” by Simon Walter
  • February – “Snowdrops in the snow” by Neil Dufty
  • March – “Coastal tranquillity” by Bethan Evans
  • April – “Spring sunset” by Suzanne Indge
  • May – “Wings of gold” by Anwen Whitehead
  • June – “Colour in camouflage” by Amelia Millett
  • July – “Harvest time” by Judith Wayne
  • August – “Summer evening” by Lucinda Gaskell
  • September – “Wild camping” by David Kelly
  • October – “The tide rises, the tide falls” by Bridget Royce
  • November – “Sunset over the blues of the Welsh valleys” by Torri Grenfell
  • December – “Red grouse” by Mike Warburton

Our overall winner is the very talented 16-year-old Anwen Whitehead. Her gorgeous photo of a puffin, taken earlier this year on Skomer Island, wowed the judges with its colour and composition and earned her both the May slot and the top spot on our calendar cover (pictured above, along with the back cover and a sample month).

She wasn’t the only youngster to impress the judges: 13-year-old Amelia Millett won a place with her stunning image of a butterfly resting on brambles, and Torri Grenfell was just 15 when she took her atmospheric sunset shot two years ago.

All 12 winners will receive a copy of the calendar, and we’ll also be sending Anwen a signed copy of TV presenter and wildlife cameraman Hamza Yassin’s latest book, Hamza’s Wild World.

We hope you enjoy our judges’ selection, and that each new photo brings you joy. Plus you’ll find a special surprise on the back cover: a montage of some of other favourite entries (see credits below).

The calendars cost £7 each or £9 including UK postage, and you can buy yours now through Class Assistant Allen Cleveland. Or you can email marketing@cardiac-rehab.org.uk or call 07985 564 188.
